About The AuthorS

Raymond Ravaglia has spent more than thirty years preparingstudents for college — and watching what happens when they getthere.

At Stanford University, he co-founded the Education Programfor Gifted Youth (EPGY), founded the Stanford Online High School,and served as associate dean and director of Stanford Pre-CollegiateStudies.

He went on to found Dwight Global Online School, thePrecollege Division at The School of The New York Times, andAccess USA, which he chairs.

He is the creator of the LaunchpadRankings, which evaluate colleges by career outcomes. Named a“Global Hero in Education” by Microsoft’s Daily Edventures, he isalso the author of Bricks and Mortar: The Making of a RealEducation at the Stanford Online High School.

Sheila Bauer is CEO and founder of Access USA, which providespractical pathways connecting motivated students, schools, anduniversities in the U.S. and internationally.
