About The Publisher

Tim Troupe Noonan

Noonan Communications was founded by Tim Troupe Noonan, who remains president. He is also publisher of its two imprints, Heritage Histories, a leading custom publisher since 2001, and Midvale Press, a new trade publisher of thoughtful fiction and non-fiction in the areas of historical fiction, history, business, spirituality and leadership. Noonan is also an author of over 35 books in a variety of subjects (partial list below), including some available and soon to be available under both imprints. He is also the founder and current host of Kettering University’s podcast, Horsepower to Hyperloops.

He began writing for Tennis Magazine while a touring tennis professional. After retiring from the tour, Noonan continued writing for periodicals such as Life Magazine, Esquire, Forbes FYI, American History Illustrated, various in-flight magazines, and many others.

He formed Noonan Communications in 1988 to consult with businesses, academia and non-profits in communications, marketing and advancement. He continues to consult through Noonan Communications, primarily to presidents and other senior administrators at colleges and universities.

Heritage Histories was formed as a subsidiary imprint of Noonan Communications, in 2001 to meet the need for high-quality custom books for businesses, schools, clubs, associations, families and individuals. Corporate, school, and family histories, biographies and ghosted memoirs are the most common products.

Midvale Press was established, also as a subsidiary imprint of Noonan Communications, in 2024 to produce quality trade books, both fiction and non-fiction. The first book in the Things I Wish I’d Known series—Things I Wish I’d Known When I Started My Career: Advice, Wisdom and Insights for Young Professionals – is available now. More books in the series as well as other titles will be coming later this year.

Noonan Communications, Heritage Histories and Midvale Press are all based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and work with a variety of suppliers around the world in editing, design, layout, printing and binding.
